There are different ways to turn off automatic updates on Windows 10. But we are not going to talk about them all we will just pick two to talk about. These two are sufficient enough to permanently end you’re updating Saga.
1 – How to turn off automatic update using Windows Update Service
- First of all, you have to run command by holding Windows + r button, then type in “service.msc and then tap Enter.
- Scroll down and tap on Windows Update Service from the list you will see.
- Now click the “General” tab and then change the “Startup type” to disabled.

After doing that the automatic update is disabled but you can follow the same process in order to re-enable your automatic update. Which of course I don’t think you will be doing anytime soon.
2 – How to turn off automatic update using settings
Turning off automatic updates in settings is easier than the process or the first method I mentioned above. This is because you are making use of settings direct, not any command option. Let’s see how to do that below:
- Tap on the Start button and locate Settings at the bottom left part.
- Now tap on Update and Security.
- Hit on Windows Update.
- Tap on Advanced Options.
- Under the “Pause update” sections, tap on the Pause update dropdown-menu and then select the time range to disable the automatic update.
What you do now is to correctly choose the information about the way you want your Windows 10 to receive updates from the menu. Once this is done there will be no more unnecessary update of your system whenever there’s a new update rolled out. You can also use the same step to resume your update.
